Supporting you through one of the most challenging trimesters — your fertility journey.
the hidden trimester:
for some of us, it's the longest and most challenging on the road to becoming a mum. And despite its significance in our lives, it remains largely hidden from those around us, making it the loneliest trimester too.
But our infertility journey also makes us stronger, more empathetic, and more resilient. For many, it leaves an imprint on our hearts forever, uncovering an immense courage and quiet strength that we never knew we had.
It’s said it takes a village to raise a baby, but we know that sometimes it takes a village to make a baby too.
Here at The Hidden Trimester, the first thing we want you to know is that what you’re going through is really hard. A fertility journey tests your mental resilience, your emotional state, your physical health, your relationships with family and friends, and your career. It has a way of impacting every part of our life, and many women still reflect on it as the most challenging time of their lives.
In particular, it is the loneliness, uncertainty and helplessness that are the hardest aspects of the journey to manage. Despite infertility being such a significant life challenge, its very nature means that the people we would traditionally rely on for support, such as family, friends and colleagues, can’t truly see or understand our experience like they would other more familiar life challenges. And thus we find ourselves more alone than we would like, as we deal with the constant rollercoaster of hope and loss, and as we try to live with the incredibly high levels of uncertainty that surround a journey of unknown length and of which the outcome will have life changing consequences.
But the second thing we want you to know is that you don’t have to be alone on this journey if you don’t want to be. Here at The Hidden Trimester we are passionate about providing vital connection during this lonely time, but most importantly, empowering women with the tools and mindset to meet this journey from a place of greater strength and calm.
Our coaching is the emotional support pillar that fills the gaps left by your vast medical team. With so much focus on your physical state, it’s also important to get the support you need for your emotional health in order to set the best foundation for conception and healthy pregnancy. While many say it takes a village to raise a baby, we know that sometimes a village is needed to make a baby too.
“My fertility has been the canvas on which all else has been painted, every friendship, every emotion, every moment of professional success or failure, every love affair, every social media post, every cat stroked, every book read and Line of Duty series watched has taken place against this backdrop. My yearning to have a child has not just shaped me as a woman: it is me as a woman. There is not a single day that I don’t think about it.”
